Hi Everyone

I just wanted to fill you in on what's happening with the website. We are continuing to try and grow the website and add some additional content and functionality along the way. At this point in time it's all fun and games. We are just trying to create a place on the web where we can share our passion for VW Beetles and anything related to the classic air-cooled VW hobby.

We are planning on adding a few key elements to the site down the road. There are three main areas that we would like to include:

Online Store - Virtual VW Swap Meet

In this section we plan on adding a very basic store. We will list parts that we have laying around and invite visitors to contact us for details on how to buy them or even get stuff for free. Not all parts are worth shipping around the world, so some stuff can be picked up locally from our garage, and we can discuss options for everything else. We also plan on getting a few THEBUGNUT.com promotional items that will be sold through this same channel. Right now we are looking at Stickers and Hats. If you are interested in something else, please let us know in the comment section at the bottom of this post.

Calendar of Events

We are currently working on a dedicated calendar of events for primarily North America, but if all goes well we may expand it world wide. This is something we will require assistance with to properly maintain it. Right now there are just two of us updating a shared / interactive calendar that will be made public online. We will be including an online form so visitors and make suggestions for VW shows and events in their area. It doesn't matter how big or small, if you know of a VW show, please let us know.

Community Forums

Our biggest goal will to eventually add a fully functioning online community where members can talk shop 24 hours a day. We didn't set out to do this when we started the site, but it is something many visitors are looking for. We must admit that it would be pretty cool, but again... to make it run like a Swiss watch we may need some additional help, and some time to get it right. So this website feature is probably last on our list.

In the meantime, we are going to continue to add member rides, add more images and videos to our media galleries, update our VW resource links, and post updates on Project #Super71.
